Rain. Rain is just water falling from the sky. Just particals of hydrogen and oxygen forming together and falling from the sky.
My name is Taylor Ameilia Skye. It also known as Tay. I'm fifteen and now am on my way to school.
Which brings me back to rain. As I sit on the crowded bus, with nothing to do, I watch the rain drops hit the glass and travel down. I do this for a while until I start to feel myself start to fall asleep. I then snap my head and look at my surroundings. My bus ride takes approximately forty minutes. My school, McAllen Joseph high school is all the way on the opposite side of town from my house. Some people may wonder way I go to a school that far but it's because I'm under a special language program and its the only school I could attend. I've been taking this bus for six days a week. Regular students go for five days a week. But for the other students and myself who are under this program we must take at least three language courses a semester out of five classes. We all come from all over the city.
The bus stops at my stop and I stand up along with other students. We each get off as the doors open. We walk into the building, we each make our own way to our reaspective areas. Some stop at the first floor while others, including myself, walk up the stairs. Each morning I walk into this five leveled building and go up stairs until I reach to top floor, which is also know as the language department. This and also the fourth floor are put together to make the language department.
I head to my locker to put away some of my books. I pass some of my friends and wave. One of them rises and walks up to me
"Tay, did you see Mark yet. He got in a fight with someone in the sports department." Isabelle says.
Isabelle is a five foot two blond haired, blue eyed girl, we met back in first semester during our creative art class. Which was meant to be part of our stress reliever classes that we take throughout the year so we don't have mental break down. They do help at times, others they just add more stress.
"No I haven't, not yet at least. I'm going to head to tea club. I'll see him there" I reply.
Tea club is a small group of kids that just just chill in Mr. Williams class and drink tea. Mr. Williams created this awhile back for students just to hang in his class as they drink tea.
"Okay, you have to see him. Mark must of gotten in so much trouble" Isabelle turns and walks back to her group of friends. Once she is back with them, I turn back and walk towards my locker.
Once I get there I put some of my books that I won't need until later in my locker. When finished I close my locker. And walk towards Mr. Williams class, which isn't too far it's just down the hall a with three classes between.
"Hey!!! Stop throwing things at me" Kevin screams jumping out of the classroom. "Taylor help me!!! Jamie is attacking me!!"
"What did you do this time kevin?" I ask him. Kevin is one of the members of tea club. He's a year younger then me. New to this school. He only gets this treatment when he does something really stupid.
"Nothing! I only asked Jamie if it's okay to let me copy her answers for our German pronouns paper we got yesterday."
"Well you do remember that's not allowed. The rules state that we must do all the work on our own or we will be punished and dropped from the program. Jamie wouldn't risk any trouble just for you kevin. So don't ask her again" I tell him. Our little language program isn't so little. We all have a set of guidelines to follow. For any of our language studies, we must do all the work on our own if caught copying or cheating we're dropped from the program and must pay a large fine. This program is financed by the government to help build leaders that can help with world relations.
Jamie then walked out of the room and stepped on Kevin's leg. "Don't you ever ask that again. I won't ever risk being kicked out of this program for your 'sorry ass'. Remember that next time". Then she walked back in the room.
I helped kevin get up without word. Then walked straight into the room. To see Mike and Hailey laying on the couch. Hailey on Mike's lap. Mike had a light purple bruise on his face and a split lip.
"Mikey boy what happened to that ugly-ass face of yours. Those bruses just make the ugliness worse" I say just to tease him.
"Shut up, Taylor. I got in a fight with Anthony. The little shithead tried to make a move on Hailey, knowing she's my girl"
He snaps back at me.
"Well I didn't mean to hurt you pride or anything. Not like you have any. But seriously dude another fight? You know the next time it happens you could be expelled. And you don't want that" I say sincerely sitting down on the love seat beside them.
He gritted his teeth "I know. But the sucker had it coming"
"You still shouldn't have done it"
I sit there and pull out some of my homework to look over while I wait for Mr. Williams to go and make tea.
Once Mr. Williams finishes making the tea, the rest of the tea club members and I each grab a cup and fill them with tea. Some of us take sugar others don't. While I load mine with sugar to have a sugary taste that helps with waking up a hundred times. Now I'm ready to deal with the day.
Each of us slowly exit the class, one by one so we could each go to our respective classes. I, so happen to have french.
I walk to french and notice Kris.
Kris Douchaine is a kid in my class who I almost had sex with. However that was while I was drunk, I'm lucky that we got interrupted or we would've went all the way. Truthfully speaking I would never actually date him. I have no emotional attraction. Infact I don't have any sort of attraction for the kid, how could I. He was a scrawny about six foot kid. Who in all honesty has a terribly unattractive face. Sure he has a funny personality but I still wouldn't have done anything if I was sober. Which I wasn't.
I walk into the class hoping he doesn't sit with me. Which to my luck he doesn't. Instead a different girl sits with me. However I do not know her name. We sit there and listen to the teacher. Write down notes. And then also work on our oral in French.
Each of us in the language program must choose three languages to master enough to be able to freely communicate. I have been taking advances in English, French and Korean for almost 3 years now. I have been able to only become fluent in French and extend my capabilities in English to a extent further then an average English speaker.
Once class is finish I walk out of the class room. Stop by my locker switch books and head to one of my normal classes. Which happens to be maths. So I walk down two flights and enter into what the language department kids call 'normalties'. Which is meant to be for the normal kids who aren't in any special programs like he rest of us.
Our school is divided into four departments:
Sports centre
Technologies and sciences
Language
Regular.
Each of us have our own places. And we stick to them.
I enter my classroom which is the class beside the stairwell I had came down. I sit in the far corner. And wait for Julia.
Julia is one of my best friends. We knew each other for years. She's a bit shorter then me. And has long brown hair and gray eyes.
As the bell rings she walks into class wearing her camo pants and black shirt. To finish, with her spiked wedges.
"Oh my god. So Gabriel texted me last night. And he was so sweet. But then there's Noah. And I'm not sure who I want more." She explains the moment she sits down.
"Well you can't just have both. We already just got you out of having three boytoys" I tell her.
"It wasn't three. It was just two and I'm not with both of them" she replied.
"Well then just choose the one who you want more" I tell her.
We stop the conversation there, since the teacher walked into class an started explaining the lesson.
We work throughout the class. With small remarks and little pieces of gossip going around.
Once class is finish we head back to our lockers to put away our books. Then head for the joe's behind the school.
Joe's is a grocery store that all of us kids go to to buy food.
As we walk out I see him. My new crush for the past couple of weeks.
Simon Adrian.
